During my internship at the Boston Globe, I had the opportunity to design pages for the magazine in addition to my newspaper pages. I mostly designed front-of-book pages, but I got to design and art direct one feature story during the summer.

For this feature story in Globe Magazine, I illustrated the iconic Citgo sign into a literal icon with a hand-drawn feel to capture the process of designing the sign. I did extensive photo research to find photos of the sign in its different iterations, as well as commissioning a photographer to photograph the sign's designer.
