Department of Data
For this project, I was tasked with branding a new column from The Washington Post: The Department of Data.
This new column from Andrew Van Dam explores the weird and wondrous power of data, through overlooked and under-appreciated data sets. I hired artist Michelle Rohn to do a portrait of Andrew to use as the branding, as the goal of this project was to make this column very personality-driven around Andrew. Read more about the column here.
We aimed to make this column super engaging to readers. As part of that, I designed buttons and agent cards to mail to readers who submit column ideas. For the one year anniversary, we published a quiz with trivia from previous columns, and I designed hoodies that we mailed to winners.
