The Home You Own

In 2022, I led the visuals for a new area of content for new, veteran or aspiring homeowners from The Washington Post. I developed a color palette and illustration style to give the content a consistent look. Each week, I designed, illustrated and art directed 5 stories and planned upcoming visuals with assignment and photography editors. Since launching, I have handed off the section to other designers and continue to plan visuals and design edit the illustrations and stories.

Branding + Color Palette

Leading up to the launch of The Home You Own, I spent weeks developing a color palette. I wanted something warm, bright and versatile that would feel home-y and be effective in illustrating the range of topics we write about, from home and garden tips to real estate.

I created this simple brandmark for PR and marketing purposes.

The marketing team used my style to create a homepage takeover promoting THYO.
