Visual storytelling at
The Washington Post

On this page, you’ll find a collection of my work on visual stories at The Post, from my roles as a designer and as an editor. This has included shaping interactive stories, creating quick-turnaround illustrations for articles and hiring artists for commissioned illustrations.

Visual storytelling

In my role as a design editor, I edit visual stories across the newsroom. I assist in assigning designers to projects that align with their interests and goals, and work closely with designers, editors, reporters and photographers to shape the presentation of stories. I provide feedback, support and direction to designers throughout the stages of each project.

Below is a sampling of projects I’ve edited in this role.

Illustration work

I regularly contribute quick-turnaround digital illustrations to pair with articles. Here are a few of my favorites.

Art direction work

In my time as designer, I art directed topper illustrations for several stories. I chose artists with a wide range of styles and aimed to consider diversity in my hiring as well.
